rewrites....

Arggggg. rewrites.... there always seems to be too many of them to do.

I free write most of the time. I have a thought and go from there. I don't agonize over a plotline ahead of time, I just start writing and then let the story take a life of it's own. It's only when I get to the rewrite stage that plotlines are a factor, and my mind looks at what i have written and compares it to what it envisions. It's this disharmony between the two that bring rewrites to the forefront, that and continuity. Oh ever blessed continuity... LOL sometimes it is hard in the course of the writing flow to keep all that has happened, all that is in the scene and all that is going to happen match in it's underlying pattern. Todays big one is similar to the scene from Edward G. Robinson's G-men... "He dove in the window with a automatic, comes up from the floor holding a revolver, and then scootsw to the door with the automatic again..." Either the fastest draw on the planet, or the continuity gaffer missed it. Well I had a liqour bottle that had been smashed at the beginning of a scene, get drunk from in the middle of the scene, and then enver had existed by the end of the scene. See my point?

Rewrites.... arggggg.

Next I have to tackle the giant hamster bit..... Don't ask....
